Prouds the Jewellers is home to a dazzling array of products — but the real gem in its midst is Pam, who adores helping customers find the perfect item.

Pam came across to Broadmeadows Central two years ago after working at sister store Angus & Coote in Epping for several years. She’s been with the company for 10 years now and says people might not realise that Prouds is still privately owned by one family.

In a previous life, Pam was a guide dog trainer. These days, she thrives in her role at Prouds and loves that her job involves “meeting people, serving customers and making them happy.”

Pam also likes that Broadmeadows Central is a multicultural hub with such a diverse range of clientele.

“We speak Arabic, Turkish, English, Hindi and Italian to our customers,” she says.

As well as the warmth of the customers, Pam enjoys how friendly her fellow retailers are. When she’s not helping people select just the right piece of jewellery to communicate how they feel, she can often be found refuelling at Coffee Club or shopping at Best + Less or Kmart.

And while Prouds is known for selling a range of jewellery for virtually any occasion, Pam says customers may not know that the stores also offer jewellery repairs.
