After working in the previous Kebab shop in Broadmeadows Central for five years, Isabella jumped at the opportunity to open her own kebab store.
Isabella established A&Y Turkish Kebabs to satisfy a demand for kebabs, but the store sells a whole lot more — from soup and pides (Turkish flatbread, which she bakes 150 of each day) to fresh pastries and Turkish delights.
A true hospitality lover at heart, Isabella gets real enjoyment from serving customers.
“I love seeing people smile,” she says, and adds that her favourite thing is “when they enjoy our food and acknowledge our tasty foods”.
Having worked in the centre for five years, Isabella believes the reason Broadmeadows Central is a popular shopping centre is because “everybody can find what they are looking for and it has numerous friendly places where people can spend time with their family and friends.”
A&Y Turkish Kebabs is certainly one of these “friendly places”. Isabella says her point of difference is her fresh pastries and excellent customer service.
And while the shop requires her to work long hours, Isabella will often pop into local eateries Coffee Art or Saccas to get a caffeine or sweet fix before a busy day of baking.
